Waialua Sunflower Fields, Oahu

July 23, 2022

About 3 weeks ago we attempted to find the Sunflower Fields in Waialua but ran into bumpy dirt roads that lead to nowhere, No Trespassing & Private Property signs, and locked gates at each and every road that we thought we might have been able to find these fields. We could see the fields in the distance but they are quite challenging to find our way as they are not right off to the side of any of the main Waialua Roads.

Last weekend we seen an advertisement  for Waimanalo Farms and the Sunflower Festival in Waialua and thought this was our opportunity to see the sunflower fields in full bloom. As we arrived and seen all the people enjoying the beautiful gleaming yellowy discs of perfection I was completely in awe. The richly red colored dirt with the crisp colors of green and yellow was simply amazing and I was excited to prepare my camera and let loose in the 20 plus acres of Sun Flowers. After a while I began to notice the rolling hills, mountains and the North Shore in the distance. This is the Hawaii I was missing, this was the Hawaii I needed to see.

Remember that this property is a private farm and to be respectful of others

Please bee careful of the Bee's! There are millions of bees everywhere! If you are alergic to Bee stings then please bring an Epinephrine Autoinjector (Epipen)

Enjoy North Shores beauty and the wonders of nature
