During my travels I enjoy photographing the beautiful landscapes and attractions that my destinations have to offer. Since I am new to the Island and don't really have a clue as to where the great spots are I did a bit of googling and found Hawaii Photography Tours and decided to meetup with Chris Rose, the owner, for their free monthly Photo Walk. This months photo walk was held at the Kaiwa Ridge / Pillbox Trail in Kailua which turned out to be quite a jewel hidden in plain sight as you can see from some of the images I have displayed. I had a blast photographing the scenery, hiking along the 3+ mile trail and meeting some pretty awesome people with the same passion and excitement for photography as I do.
This trail is currently an undeveloped trail and receives minimal maintenance from the State of Hawaii. Hikers are advised to watch their step and not to climb the bunkers. Trail offers 360 degree views of Kailua, the Mokaluas and the Ko`olau Mountains. Please enjoy but do so at your own risk.
